London with The Reach London – Guest Post
The Reach London make our favourite sleep wear and therefore we partnered with them to do a guest post where they told us all about their city, London. If you firstly wanted to learn a bit more about The Reach London then check out our brand highlight post on them here. We asked them a series of questions about London and they gave some great insights into the Big Smoke.
What are London’s biggest trends at the moment?
Active and Leisurewear is massive this year in London. Londoners are very much into healthy, clean living and they look for items of clothing that look good both in and outside the gym. The pyjama-chic trend is also sticking around, with pyjama shirts paired with jeans being the easiest way to tap in to the trend. They are also popular with the increasing numbers of people who work from home who are looking for practicality and above all else comfort and let’s face it who doesn’t want an excuse to stay in their pyjamas all day!
What are London’s best shops?
Where to start! The best bit about London is there is always something for everyone. From little boutique shops (http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/esmagazine/50-best-boutiques-in-london-a3209526.html) to mainstream stores like & Other Stories (www.stories.com) and Whistles (www.whistles.com). Then of course there are the luxury well known retail stores such as Selfridges, Harrods, Liberty and Fortnum & Mason, tourist destinations but still well worth a visit.
Best areas for Fashion?
Really depends what you want. For mainstream stores head to Oxford Street. For smaller independent shops head to Soho, Shoreditch or Notting Hill.
Favourite thing about London?
The food! There are some amazing restaurants whatever your budget. If you are treating yourself I would recommend either Chotto Matte, a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese (www.chattematte.com) or Yautuaa , a dim sum restaurant located in Soho (www.yautuaa.com). If you are on a budget head to Bao (www.bao.com). In my opinion Soho has the best choice of restaurants. I recommend downloading the app dojo. It provides great information about restaurants, markets and fun activities to do in London for that particular week.
Why do you love London fashion?
We love the “everything goes” mentality. With London hosting Fashion Week each year, just walk along London streets to see every kind of fashion trend on show. But Londoners also appreciate that fashion rules are there to be broken and London does not disappoint with eclectic styles and eccentric looks in abundance!
